Rick Mitchell chairs the Higher Education Practice Group at GrayRobinson, P.A., which has 300 attorneys and consultants in 13 offices across Florida.  Prior to law school, Rick worked as a Disney engineer.  After law school, Rick earned a top five score on the Florida Bar Exam, clerked for two federal judges, and has now practiced law for over 17 years.

Rick represents many state colleges, including Valencia College, and many state universities, including the University of Central Florida and University of Florida.

He regularly defends cases involving student discipline, employment, Title IX, free speech, intellectual property, personal injury and public records claims.  He’s also defended numerous high-profile cases including wrongful death cases involving a drum major’s hazing death, and a football player’s death at practice.
