Dori Haggerty

Campus Director, Faculty & Instructional Development, Valencia College

Dori Haggerty is the Director of Faculty and Instructional Development for the West Campus at the Aspen-prize winning Valencia College. She began her career in education by earning a BS in Science Education, then a Masters in the Art of Science Teaching, and currently holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. Her past positions include Dean of Science and Math at Delgado Community College, and Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of New Orleans, where she was also the Director of Professional Schools for the College.

Over the years, Dori has developed expertise in active and brain-based learning strategies which she uses to design curriculum and instructional experiences to deepen student engagement while improving student success. The development and implementation of the active learning certification program for faculty at Valencia has been a significant cornerstone of her work at the college.
