Christina McElwee

Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence & Associate Professor of English, Grand Rapids Community College

Christina McElwee is an Associate Professor of English and the Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at Grand Rapids Community College. She received her B.A. and M.Ed. degrees from Grand Valley State University. She has taught a variety of courses in developmental education, English composition, and literature. Thus far in her educational career she has also taught at the K-12 level and also, a number of graduate courses in the area of literacy studies and assessment. Currently she is serving on a team with administrators and faculty to strengthen general education outcomes and build a culture of assessment at her college.
