Where and when is the next conference?
The Community College Conference on Learning Assessment will be held February 5-7, 2017, at The Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando, FL.  Located at 9700 International Drive, this luxury resort is close to the Orange County Convention Center, SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Studios, and the newly-renovated Pointe Orlando entertainment complex. (Note: There are three Rosen Hotel Properties on International Drive. The Rosen Plaza Hotel is directly across the street from Pointe Orlando.)

What is the conference hotel rate?
A special conference rate of $175 plus tax for a single/double/triple/quad room is available until Wednesday, January 4, 2017 (after this date, reservations will be accepted on a space-available basis at the prevailing rate) or when the room block is full.  Reservations can be made directly with Rosen Plaza Hotel by calling reservations at 1-800-627-8258 and referencing Valencia College – 2017 Community College Conference on Learning Assessment or online by following this link.

How can I register for the conference
Choose one of the following registration options:

Valencia College’s tax ID # is 59-1216316.  Checks should be made payable to Valencia College.

What meals are included?
Your conference registration includes the Sunday evening welcome reception, Monday continental breakfast, Monday lunch, and all beverage breaks (Tuesday’s breakfast and lunch are on your own).  Additional tickets for guests are available for purchase either online or onsite.

How do I report any dietary restrictions or special needs?
There will be space on the registration form to indicate special needs.  You may also email the conference registrar at conferencing@valenciacollege.edu

When does online registration close?
Conference registrations will be accepted online through January 31, 2017. After that date, attendees must register on-site, pending space availability.

I am an employee of Valencia College.  What paperwork is needed to complete my registration?

I am a presenter. Do I need to register for the conference?
Yes.  Upon acceptance of the presentation proposal, each presenter agrees to participate by presenting the proposed workshop, registering for the conference, and paying the registration fee (presenters are paid neither an honorarium nor expenses).

I am an exhibitor.  Do I need to pay for the conference?
The exhibitor table package includes a conference registration, allowing entrance to all meals and sessions.  Conference registrations for additional booth representatives are available at the discounted rate of $275 each.

How can I receive a payment receipt?
Once your check or credit card payment has cleared, about 5-7 days from submission date, you will receive a payment receipt and registration information via email.  If you pay online using CASHNet, our secure payment gateway, you will immediately receive an emailed confirmation receipt.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?
Cancellations must be in writing and will be assessed a $100 administrative fee if received prior to December 16, 2016. Cancellations received after December 16, 2016 are nonrefundable. No-shows will not be refunded; however, a substitute attendee is permitted. No-shows registered by purchase order will be invoiced for applicable fees.

What are cooperating organizations?
Cooperating organizations are conference co-hosts—associations whose work supports learning assessment efforts in higher education. These organizations tend to be larger affiliations, typically serving members on a state-wide, regional, or national level, who cooperatively support the Community College Conference on Learning Assessment by partnering through providing publicity, speakers, and funding.  If you are interested in becoming a cooperating organization for The Community College Conference on Learning Assessment, please contact  Shauna Anstey at sanstey@valenciacollege.edu.

What is the dress code?
The dress code is business casual.  Dressing in layers may be helpful as the conference rooms can get cool.

What is the smoking policy at the hotel?
The Rosen Plaza Hotel is a smoke-free environment in all indoor public areas and guestrooms. Smoking areas are available outside of the hotel.

Will I need to pay for hotel parking?
Rosen Plaza Hotel has extended complimentary self-parking for all overnight guests.  Self-parking is discounted to $10 per vehicle, per day for drive-in attendees.  Valet parking is also available.
